El salar del Diablo

Um passeio pelo Salar del Diablo e uma visita ao Pico de Arita.

Fotos: Vanessa Aquino.

4.560 meters of altitude... My dear friend Thomas gave me some tablets to prevent problems with altitude. It actually got me dizzy and coke was tasting flat.

Llama meat tastes great! But coke was still flat on the way back home.

56 Km from Chile
Salt everywhere. That explains the food here...
Dust in the wind, in the car, in my backpack and in my camera.
A village in the middle of nowhere with a train station. The train passes once a week.
End of the village

Silly goose...

Nobody noticed before... but I see a face!

Oh! Look harder... that's where we stay for now

Up to our potential pit!

Salta to La Puna (Andes)

Here the landscape changes dramatically.
As I took way too many pictures I decided to post them little by little and according to changes... plus, I don't have too much time to keep uploading because as a matter of fact I do have to work as well.
Here's is a bit of the way the landscape is from Salta towards the Andes.

Aqui a paisagem muda drasticamente.

So cactus and snow go together here.
Cactus e neve combinam aqui.
 And everything is colorful
E tudo é muito colorido

 Here are some llamas...
Algumas llamas...
 And me!
E eu!

Hugs anyone?

Round roof houses
Casinhas de telhado redondo

There are many buildings abandoned just like that!
Há muitas construções abandonadas como esta!

Trip to Salta

From the project to San Juan... beautiful landscape...
...I know... but I can't swim if I don't finish my job first.
